Punjab Govt distributes 5.2 million health insurance cards: Dr Yasmin

Punjab government has so far distributed 5.2 million health insurance cards amongst the most deserving families. This was stated by Provincial Health Minister Yasmin Rashid while talking to the media persons in Rawalpindi today (Thursday). She said these health cards are for the indoor facilities including neurosurgery, cardiac treatment and dialysis. The provincial minister said our plan is to extend the scope of the insurance scheme to the whole of the province. Responding to a question, she said the C0vid-19 related deaths in Punjab have reduced.  She said anti C0VID vaccine will be administered to the health workers in the first phase. Dozens of mountaineers have been competing over the past few weeks to summit the world's second highest mountain, the last peak above 8,000 metres to be topped in wintertime.  The Nepalese climbers defied harsh weather conditions to write history by ascending K2 in winters conquering the 8611 meter-high K2. After a detailed analysis of the situation by health and education ministers we have decided to start classes for 9,10,11,12 as per announced schedule of Jan 18. 1st time in Pakistan remittances have been above $2 bn for 6 consecutive months.

  Remittances from overseas Pakistanis rose further to $2.4 bn in Dec20, up 16.2% compared to Dec19 and up 4.2% over Nov. 2020. For the 1st 6 months of this fiscal year remittances reached $14.2 bn and have risen 24.9% over last fiscal year. For details see Pakistan’s exports to the UK have crossed the 1 billion in the first 6 months of any Financial Year. For Jul-Dec 2020, the exports to UK grew by 21% to USD 1,029 million as compared to USD 852 million in Jul-Dec 2019. Moreover, in Dec 2020, these exports grew by 47% to USD 189 million as compared to USD 129 million in Dec 2019.  MOC’s Trade Officers posted in the UK and urge them to work harder in finding opportunities for our exporters and provide facilitation to our businessmen.  Pakistan's exports to US grew by 27% to USD 425 million in Dec 2020 as compared to USD 334 million in Dec 2019.
